Eager to compete in the Olympic Games next summer, Antoine Dupont did not hesitate to sacrifice the French XV, which looks bad in the eyes of some.
Antoine Dupont will be one of the notable absentees from the inaugural clash between the XV of France and Ireland, Friday, at the opening of the 6 Nations Tournament. Several other Blues executives will be missing, like Romain Ntamack or Anthony Jelonch. Unlike his teammates, the usual captain of the Blues is not injured and should even be on the pitch at Ernest-Wallon the next day to face Bayonne on the 14th day of the Top 14.
If Antoine Dupont will not be with the French XV during the 6 Nations Tournament, it is because of his decision to participate in the Olympic Games with the French rugby sevens team. He will start his preparation next Monday and will participate notably at the two stages of the world circuit in Vancouver (February 23 to 25) and Los Angeles (March 2 to 3) in the coming weeks. The absence of the scrum half from the Blues no less upsets some people, like Pierre Berbizier.
“I don’t know what to tell you. He is not going to play with the France team but will play with his club. It’s very good for the French 7s team. We know he’s an exceptional player,” thus entrusted the former coach of the XV of France to La Dépêche du Midiadding: “But I would simply have liked, since I see that he is available, that the captain of the last World Cup, following this failure, would revive his troops even if it means adapting followingwards. His presence would have been a strong sign to relaunch the adventure. In my opinion, it is quite surprising how it works, but it was managed between the different parties.”

The Fondation Beyeler welcomes the photographic works of the Canadian artist Jeff Wall born in 1946. The paintings come from several collections and the artist, who collaborated in putting together the exhibition, had no longer presented so many works in Switzerland for twenty years.
Until April 21, more than fifty works are on display retracing 50 years of Jeff Wall’s photographic creations. From his famous slides mounted in light boxes, to large format black and white photographs, including color inkjet prints. Martin Schwander, curator of the exhibition, presents these works by Jeff Wall, a pioneer in the world of artistic photography.

The EDF inter-union launched a call for a national strike this Tuesday, January 30 in order to encourage management to return to the negotiating table on the question of wages. However, this strike should not result in a power cut.
EDF employees are called to strike this Tuesday, January 30 in order to encourage management to return to the negotiating table on the subject of wages. The unions are demanding in particular that all agents benefit from better increases.
This day of strike will result in “load reductions (electricity production) and the cessation of work on the units (nuclear reactors) which are under maintenance”reports Arnaud Barlet, CFE-CGC central union secretary for EDF SA, cited by Cnews.
“The consequences are for the finances of the company, since if we produce less electricity, we sell less electricity, but that does not affect our customers”he warns straight away, excluding the possibility of voluntary cuts like those which accompanied the mobilization once morest pension reform.
“Anger towards management’s position on salary measures is very present”, underlines the CGT for its part, while individual measures of increases of +1.5% have so far been announced. The CFE-CGC demands 4%, the CGT 2.3%.
On the EDF side, we highlight the “context of high debt of the group”, to the tune of 65 billion euros, as well as future investments to come, to justify the limitation of salary increases. False argument according to the unions, since the group is preparing to announce “record” results for the year 2023, in particular thanks to the record increase in energy prices.
