BYD launched Xuanji, its software for smart cars, on Tuesday, seeking to compete with industry giants such as Tesla and Xpeng. With driving assistance, parking, artificial intelligence and voice recognition features, Xuanji will initially be available on models in the Yangwang line —composed of the U8 SUV and the U9 sports car—, with plans to expand to other vehicles in the future.
The Chinese company is intensifying its efforts in the field of automotive technology. BYD President Wang Chuanfu revealed that more than 90,000 employees are involved in research departments, with 4,000 focused exclusively on intelligent driving.
The Xuanji system, which means “immediately” in Chinese, differentiates itself by allowing the car to function even without essential body parts, replacing missing mechanical components through technology.
With two artificial intelligences (one in the car and one in the cloud), the system operates on three communication networks: with other vehicles, satellites and 5G.
The press demonstration featured a Yangwang U8 car missing some body parts, brake discs and calipers, highlighting the Xuanji’s ability to drive, perform maneuvers up to 60 km/h and brake using electronic controls. At the moment, the Xuanji is only available on models in the Yangwang line,
Equipped with three LiDAR laser radars and 360º cameras with 99.9% perception, the system offers accurate detection, passing between barriers with just 10 cm of clearance.
Xuanji also incorporates an advanced voice assistant, recognizing the voice at four different points within the vehicle, identifying different dialects and executing up to 12 commands in a single order. BYD is also exploring new ways to enter the car, such as using a cell phone key and biometrics.

Donald Trump
IOWA.- Former President Donald Trump insisted on his proposal to carry out the “largest deportation operation in history” if he returns to the presidency of the United States.
“As soon as I am sworn in, I will end the Biden Administration’s open borders policy and begin the largest deportation operation in American history,” Trump said Sunday at a rally in Iowa, ahead of this year’s caucus. Monday.
This is not the first time that the former president promises a large mass deportation operation. A month ago, Trump had promised exactly the same thing on his first day as president, if he is elected.
“On my first day back in the White House I am ending all of the Biden administration’s open border policies. “I am going to stop the invasion of the southern border and begin the largest and most massive deportation operation in the country,” said the New York magnate during a rally in New Hampshire.
Likewise, a few weeks ago he promised to transfer “massive portions” of law enforcement to handle them, even calling in troops abroad.
Stephen Miller, the Republican’s former immigration policy advisor, a likely member of an eventual second Biden administration, cited the video on X, formerly called Twitter, adding the comment: “Deportations will begin at noon on Inauguration Day.”
Trump advances his anti-immigrant speech as his messages seem to be reaching the Republican Party voter.
A recent CBS News/YouGov poll released Sunday found that 81% of Republican voters said they agreed with the former president’s controversial comment that immigrants are “poisoning the blood” of the nation. Only 19% disagreed with the statement.
Likewise, these types of statements might further mobilize MAGA voters, as the most radical followers of the former president are known. 97% said they agreed with statements such as those that immigrants “poison the blood” of the nation.
The picture is different when considering general voters. In that case, 47% said they agreed, while 53% disagreed.

If Canadians fear the political and economic consequences of Donald Trump’s return to power, this feeling of insecurity is even more present the day following his resounding victory in Iowa.
In Stanstead, Canadian and American citizens say they are worried and do not dare imagine the consequences of the former president’s Republican inauguration, even less of his possible re-election next November.
Citizens in the Quebec municipality bordering that of Derby Line in Vermont are in disbelief the day following Donald Trump’s victory in the primaries in Iowa. People cannot understand how the former American president might succeed in rallying the Republican electorate despite his numerous legal disputes.
Vermont has traditionally been Democratic for around forty years, even though, during the last elections in 2020, the northern part of the state voted in favor of the Republicans.
At the bowling alley, TVA Nouvelles was able to feel the pulse of some American citizens. They have difficulty hiding their concerns and do not even dare to imagine what will happen if Donald Trump were to win the nomination or, even worse, return to the White House.
For Emmanuel Choquette, specialist in political strategies and communications at the University of Sherbrooke, Trump’s Americanist speech and the populist movement might have an impact on the 2025 federal election in Quebec. His re-election would not be without consequences, and not only for Canada.
The New Hampshire primaries next Tuesday might be decisive. Many citizens are crossing their fingers, hoping that the trend will be reversed.
