Anklöckler and sausage soup, fairy lights and gifts. All of this is also part of Christmas in the Mittersill retirement home. Station manager Michael Bachmaier talks regarding the special atmosphere, which also makes his heart happy.
The Anklöckler, who remember Maria and Joseph’s search for a hostel, visited on December 9th. They performed twice. Once for the residents on the first floor and once for those on the second floor.
The station manager on the first floor is Michael Bachmaier. The 35-year-old Mittersiller discovered his passion for the nursing profession as a community service worker here. The trained salesman can now look back on a number of services during the Christmas holidays. He will also be in action this year.
And he’s looking forward to it: “During the holidays and especially on Christmas Eve, the atmosphere is very special. In the morning everything necessary is done, but then contemplation returns. Because the setting is smaller and more manageable, the action always takes place takes place on both floors. A volunteer and a former civil servant play music, there is a Christmas snack with coffee and sausage soup in the evening. Everyone receives small gifts that were made together. This was no different with St. Nicholas’ visit. One part Our ‘protégés’ can no longer verbally express the joy of what is happening, which of course also includes the lights on the Christmas trees, but the joy and emotion is written on their faces. A highlight is that our home manager on all three rough nights smoke and don’t miss a single room. For me, all of this is something very beautiful; it moves a lot in me. The others on the team feel the same way.”
On Friday, December 22nd, the Mittersill Liedertafel will also pay a visit to the house. And another special feature: The all-purpose room on the ground floor has been designed as an Advent market for the first time this year – beautifully decorated and with cozy meeting places for the residents of the house and their visitors.

Huawei has already confirmed the official launch of the Nova 12 line and has also started the device reservation process. Commenting on the matter, a Chinese leaker said that the company’s expectations are surpass the mark of 30 million units sold with this new family of smartphones.
Citing people who work at Huawei as sources, he also revealed that the company has prepared for sales of the Nova 12 line, as there is much more stock of parts needed to assemble the smartphones.
As a consequence, the tendency is for the launch of the Nova 12 to significantly impact sales of other mid-range devices in China throughout 2024.
Most analysts’ forecast is that brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo and Honor will see some drop in sales of their more affordable options.
With a much larger stock of parts, Huawei hopes that the Nova 12 line will make the company lead the Chinese smartphone market once more in 2024.
Unlike the Mate 60 family, the price of intermediaries will be highly competitive.
It is worth remembering that the Nova 12 line will consist of a Lite variant with a 4G connection only, a standard Nova 12 with a Snapdragon chipset, while the Nova 12 Pro and Ultra must deliver a proprietary Kirin 5G chipset.
The devices must also have an OLED screen, a 50 MP main camera, a battery of up to 5,000 mAh and HarmonyOS 4.0 as the operating system.

Last Friday, an incident occurred between a cyclist and a motorist, not far from the Etterbeek barracks.
The cyclist, who was riding in the middle of the street, appeared to be preventing the motorist from passing him, which annoyed him. The latter honked his horn and, following passing the cyclist, stopped and attacked him: “I also cycle but I don’t ride in the middle of the street. That’s pretension,” said the motorist.
The cyclist continued his route and overtook the car. But as he slipped between the car and another parked on the side of the road, the cyclist hit the car of the disgruntled driver. The latter then got back into his car and passed the cyclist once more, appearing even more angry.
“You hit the car, sir,” he told him. To which the cyclist responds: “I didn’t do it on purpose, sir”. The motorist then loses his temper: “Now you’re not moving. Don’t move or I’ll run you over,” says the motorist.
The driver of another van called for calm. Finally it was a police patrol passing by who intervened to calm the situation.
Questioned by Bruzz, the cyclist denounced the situation: “I returned home in a state of shock. Many motorists are courteous, but individuals like this seem to be increasing in number, while most of these incidents remain under the radar. This is why I want to make this phenomenon more visible, to defend the idea that cycling in Brussels must remain pleasant,” he explains.
