Broadcast every Sunday, Turbo, the cult M6 program stopped over at the Albi circuit at the end of last week. On its legendary track, the television team tested the last two Mercedes-AMGs. Unexpected visibility for the Albi circuit which intervenes, even though it is at the center of all the attention of the prefect. The latter must soon issue an approval decree which will specify the future conditions of its use.

“We recently met the prefect. He is trying to establish a dialogue between the town hall and the residents to calm the situation. He offered us a meeting with the community. We accepted”, completes the president of the ARAS, Michel Ricard. “But, just before this crucial meeting for the future of the circuit, we discover that the town hall has allowed an activity to be carried out which does not correspond to either current regulations or the new project of the community. It is a provocation and a beautiful illustration of its double language”, plague the association, which threatens not to go to the meeting of April 7 in these conditions.

“The municipality is in a feeling of omnipotence”

The reason for the association’s anger is simple: the filming of the program followed by an average of 1.2 million viewers would have taken place in violation, both of a municipal decree limiting the use of the circuit by this type of vehicle, a ministerial decree prescribing break times between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., but also a prefectural decree relating to the maximum authorized sound volume, the sound level meters having been removed for maintenance at the beginning of March, any control was impossible .

ARAS has decided to file a complaint to have these offenses recognized. “The municipality is in a feeling of omnipotence in the face of justice, the mayor of the Sequestration and the prefect”, confesses Michel Ricard. “We are implicitly told that our opinion does not count. We are not once morest the circuit. We admit that it is part of the local landscape and that a certain part of our fellow citizens is attached to it.” The association supports the municipal ambition to move towards carbon-free and non-noisy activities.
