The Arts Center at New York University Abu Dhabi announced that it will host the last pavilion performance of the Palestinian-American contemporary group, “Dance Theatre, Summer!”, on Friday (February 10) at the Red Theatre.
The show deals with global human experiences, and describes the story of a man in the hospital, where the patient is surrounded by the tools of modern medicine that are unable to help him. Meditation takes him on his life, his relationships, and his attachment to the place, so that the routine of visiting the doctor and calls of family members turns into a strange scene that combines humor and tragedy.
The final stand show features an international cast, including Palestinian actor Khalifa Natour, who performs the script in Arabic with English subtitles. The play was co-written by artists-in-residence at Barychenkov Center for the Arts (New York), Théâtre National Chaillot (Paris), The Storyteller Theater (Jerusalem), and Jacob’s Pillow Theater (Beckett, Massachusetts), with the participation of international actors, including the famous Palestinian actor Khalifa Natour, who He performs a role in Arabic with English subtitles.
Bill Bragin, Executive Artistic Director of The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi, said: “We are excited to be hosting the latest pavilion performance for the first time in the Arab world, and to share the unique methodology of powerful dance theatre. The center offers its audience a variety of dance and dance performances, especially by artists residing in the region.
