Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida dies at 95
(AFP)
Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida, a voluptuous brunette who burst onto the screen following the war in Hollywood, has died at the age of 95, the Italian Minister of Culture announced on Monday.
The former sex symbol, revealed in 1952 in “Fanfan la tulipe” by French director Christian-Jaque, had fractured her femur when she fell at her Roman home in September and had to be operated on.
“Farewell to a diva of the big screen, protagonist of more than half a century of Italian cinema history. Her charm is eternal. Ciao Lollo”, tweeted the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano.
Born on July 4, 1927 in the small village of Subiaco, in the heart of Abruzzo (central Italy), in a modest family which then settled in Rome, Gina Lollobrigida played with the greatest of her time in the 1950s and 1960s, from Frank Sinatra to Sean Connery, from Marcello Mastroianni to Humphrey Bogart.
She toured until 1962 in the United States and then ended up returning to Italy. She then appeared only occasionally in film and television.
“La Lollo” then returned to her first artistic loves, photography and then sculpture, to which she devoted herself entirely from the beginning of the 1980s.
The 20th anniversary of JJ Lin JJ’s debut this year, it was announced earlier that the “JJ Lin Junjie JJ20 World Tour Concert” will be held in Hong Kong on March 18-19 at the central waterfront event space, priority order tickets will go on sale this morning (16th) , sold out in two minutes at a flash rate, and fans who have not been able to buy tickets for the time being, remember to buy them at TIX-GET-GO at 11:00 am on the day of the public sale on the 17th.
JJThe popularity has always been very good. With the relaxation of immigration measures, friends in the circle of Hong Kong and Taiwan have all expressed their intention to fly to Hong Kong to see the show. Of course they are excited to get the support of many friends, but because the Hong Kong station only has two shows, JJ, who owed a lot of flying debts, was very distressed by this.

(c) Laces Out
Behind Laces Out stuck experienced musicians. Drummer Steve Delucia and guitarist/vocalist Ed Ciarfella have been in bands together for almost 20 years. Among other things, they were with Pigeon with bassist Ray Wasnieski, who completes this power trio. A first EP was released in 2017, then there was silence for a long time. The lockdowns were mostly spent with songwriting, they came back in July with a small EP and are now pushing a full album followingwards. „Here At The Ashram“ bridges the gap between post-hardcore, punk and noise.
Nine rough and yet catchy tracks take the noise esprit of the previous small formats with them, but overall dare to go further. “Ipkiss Please”, for which there is also a video, is definitely a showpiece. Uncomfortable and yet somehow melodically touched Post-Hardcore takes the bulky madness with it and puts it through the meat grinder. So there are a few rousing passages, chopped up by dissonant salvos that briefly hint at a mini-hymn before the scrubbing bass line dissects everything with growing enthusiasm. The instrumental final minute even plays with jazzy alternative motifs in places.
“Kick And Scream”, the title of the opener, would be a great motto for the whole album. The different musical styles come together perfectly here. Instead of turning in the direction of Über-Hook, Laces Out suggest polyrhythms, lay a small carpet of noise over the events and yet remain charmingly reserved. The short, crisp “Shooter” is a punk wrecking ball of the highest quality, fast and foamy, like a madcap hussar ride. On the other hand, “Impulse” slows down the tempo completely, employing leisurely pressure waves of latent madness – a completely different approach for what is at least a very similar idea.
Laces Out rattle through in less than half an hour and bring a breath of fresh air into familiar tones. Of course, they remain excessively noisy, but “Here At The Ashram” is clearly more sorted and precise, more melodic and more varied overall. Angry eruptions, disguised melodies and a lot of love for the suspended and wacky detail characterize this album-length debut. There should be more of that very soon.

Several readers wrote to me following Julien Lacroix appeared on the show The world upside down at TVA, to ask me if my opinion of the comedian had changed.
However, my opinion has never focused on Julien Lacroix himself, but on a principle: that of the presumption of innocence in a state of law.
And in this case, the interview on Friday evening only confirmed my convictions: the people’s court will never replace the justice system.
SHE SAYS, HE SAYS
Before, during and following Julien Lacroix’s interview with Stéphan Bureau, social media went wild. Everyone had an opinion on the guilt or not of Lacroix, on his right or not to a second chance, on the credibility or not of his accusers.
“I believe him! », shouted some. “I believe them! shouted the others. Like Nero putting his thumbs up or his thumbs down in a gladiatorial arena.
However, viewers were not invited to a trial. Nobody asked them to be a member of the jury at the Cathodic Courthouse.
Lacroix was given a platform to talk regarding the human impact of journalistic investigations.
“It’s beautiful, we were thirsty for blood, we were thirsty for names, we wanted heads to roll, we wanted a show, but for a lot of people, including me, this show is my life” , said Julien Lacroix, shaken, to Stéphan Bureau.
In my columns and on the radio, I have never “defended” an individual. I have always defended a certain conception of justice.
At the risk of repeating myself, I will reiterate this: the only way to definitively “close” the Lacroix file is for the accusers to file complaints which the police can investigate. That the DPCP lay charges. That the parties have the opportunity to present evidence in Court. That the accused have the right to make full answer and defense and to a fair trial. That the complainants have the opportunity to present their version of the facts. And let a judge give his verdict.
Other than that, everything else will be guesswork, gossip, rumors and hasty judgment.
AND NOW ?
The question now is: will the comedian be able to move forward and turn the page, as he wishes?
As long as he has not been condemned by a Court, I do not see why he should receive a sentence of professional death, internal exile or boycott.
Those who feel “discomfort” with the mere presence of
Lacroix in the same room as them just have to avoid it. But in the name of what would they prevent him from exercising his profession in front of an audience that wants to hear him?
While the real convicts, those who have served their real sentence and who have “repaid their debt to society” are entitled to reintegration programs, would Lacroix be treated as an outcast?
What a strange society that treats those who have been found guilty in good and due form less harshly than those who have never had the chance to defend themselves in due form.
It’s the world upside down.
