A woman has been jailed for 15 months after admitting posting a message online to ‘blow up a mosque’.

Julie Sweeney, 53, left her home in Churchlawton, Cheshire, in the local community on August 3 Facebook made the comment to the group, which was later reported to the police.

Judge Steven Everett added: ‘Like any sane person you should have watched the horrific news and media. Instead you decided to participate in spreading hate.

‘You were part of a Facebook account that had 5100 members. You had a huge readership. You threatened a mosque, wherever it is. It was a truly terrifying threat.

‘The members of your group were easily influenced and possibly vulnerable. You made the comment carelessly rather than deliberately but the only appropriate punishment would be immediate custody.’

They said they took into account Julie Sweeney’s previous good character and the ‘heartbreaking letter’ from her husband.

But he added: ‘In situations like this, even people like you have to go to jail because a message has to go out that if you do these horrible things, the court will say to you, ‘You have to go to jail.’ . I’m afraid that’s what I have to say to you today.’

Appearing in court via video link from HMP Styal in Cheshire, Julie Sweeney replied: ‘Thank you.’

In fact, this song was included in the film as it was based on the original film’s soundtrack.

Mehmood could see that RD Burman’s thoughts were changing as Kishore Kumar’s wait was getting longer.

Now this was the time when Kishore Kumar was very busy not only in acting but also in singing. Kishore Kumar was the first choice of every filmmaker.

And then half of 15 minutes and then an hour passed. Asha Bhosle knew that Mehmood and RD Burman’s blood pressure was getting high.

That’s why, to save the matter from getting worse, he made a suggestion that why not Mehmood should sing this song and since this song will be filmed on him in the film, it will become natural.

Mehmood had this quality that he was not only acting but also singing. Producer, director, singer and actor, Mehmood was called an all-round artist.

RD Burman also agreed with Asha Bhosle’s opinion, but Mehmood was not ready.

Asha Bhosle said that it does not seem that Kishore Kumar will come. If Mahmood wants to save today’s shift, he will have to sing himself and Mahmood is not such a bad singer.

After a lot of thought, Mehmood agreed to save money and time, but it was decided that later when Kishore Kumar gets time, this song will be recorded in his voice.

The song was recorded and became such a hit that Asha Bhosle and RD Burman urged Mehmood to add his own voice to the film.

On March 21, 1973, the film ‘Do Phool’ hit the theaters and did excellent business, while Mahmood was nominated for the Filmfare Awards as a comedian but did not win the award.

When Kishore Kumar heard that song, he himself became a fan of Mehmood’s singing and was forced to say that he could not have sung that song better than Mahmood.

The song is popular till date and the reason is attributed to its lyrics as well as Mahmood’s singing.

‘Doophol’ is the film which was remade 20 years after its release as ‘Aankheen’, starring Govinda, Chunky Pandey and Raj Babbar, but the song was not remade.
