California Water Service Group Launches 13th Annual Scholarship Program, Offering Up to $10,000 to Students
SAN JOSE, Calif. – February 10, 2026 – Students dreaming of higher education in California, Hawaii, New Mexico and Washington have a significant opportunity to ease the financial burden, thanks to California Water Service Group’s (CWT) newly announced 13th annual Scholarship Program. A total of $80,000 in scholarship funds is available, providing a crucial boost to aspiring college and vocational school students.
Scholarship Details: A Pathway to Affordable Education
The program offers a range of awards, with four grand-prize scholarships valued at $10,000 each. Additional scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 will also be distributed. To be considered, applicants must be planning to enroll as full-time undergraduate students at an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school for the 2026-2027 academic year. Selection will be based on a combination of academic achievement, demonstrated commitment to community service, and documented financial need.
Who is Eligible?
The scholarship program is open to students residing within the service areas of California Water Service Group and its subsidiaries. Eligibility extends to both traditional and non-traditional students – those returning to school or pursuing postsecondary education for the first time are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must be at least 16 years old, a high school senior, a high school graduate with a GED, or a current undergraduate student.
A Century of Community Commitment
This scholarship initiative isn’t a new endeavor for California Water Service Group. For thirteen years, the company has invested in the future of its communities through this program, and to date, has awarded a total of $839,000 in scholarships. According to Marty Kropelnicki, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, the program is particularly meaningful as the company celebrates its 100th year of service. “As we kick off our 100th year of service to our customers, we are pleased to again offer scholarships to lessen the financial barriers that can deter students from pursuing their dreams,” Kropelnicki stated. The program is funded through stockholder contributions, ensuring it doesn’t impact customer rates.
