Abu Dhabi, September 24 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, sent a cable of congratulations to His Excellency Amr Sissoko Embalo, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, on the occasion of his country’s independence anniversary.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Office, also sent two similar congratulatory cables to His Excellency Umar Sissoko Embalo.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent similar congratulatory messages to His Excellency Geraldo Martins, Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea Bissau.

A fatal accident took place on Saturday evening in Rance (in the province of Hainaut), between Beaumont and Chimay. Three deaths are to be deplored.

It’s a couple and their 3-year-old daughter. A second 6-year-old girl was seriously injured.

The accident took place around 11 p.m. The vehicle was traveling on rue de la Verrerie in Rance. It deviated from its trajectory for an as yet unknown reason. The car then hit a pole before ending up on its roof in a ditch alongside the road. The passengers were apparently ejected, except for a 6-year-old girl. The firefighters extricated her. She is now in a local hospital in critical condition.

North Salem High School students came together for the school’s annual Homecoming dance Friday night. The dance, held at the North Salem High School cafeteria, included a picture booth, ice cream bar, DJ and dancing. Students, dressed in semi-formal wear, alternated spending time on the dance floor and the outdoor quad. The varsity boys soccer team arrived in their uniforms, fresh from a 3-0 win over Arlington High School.
