Holi: Before the Holi festival in Rajasthan, the process of imposing Section-144 has started once more in various districts. After Jhunjhunu and Banswara, now Section-144 has been imposed in Barmer district situated on Indo-Pak international border in view of Holi and Dhulandi festivals.

Politics has started regarding the order issued by the District Collector to implement Section 144. Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Vidhansabha Rajendra Rathore has demanded an answer from the government, alleging that issuing such orders on festivals is hurting religious sentiments.

In view of the festival of Holi, Barmer District Collector Lokbandhu Yadav has issued an order and has implemented Section 144 across the district from March 2 to March 12. Under this, songs that hurt the sentiments of the common man have also been banned. People have been appealed not to use colors that hurt religious sentiments. Along with this, a ban has also been imposed on the consumption of liquor in public places and carrying weapons.

Deputy Leader of Opposition Rathore sought answer from the government

After the copy of this order went viral on social media, Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore raised the issue in the assembly and sought an answer from the government by putting the Barmer district administration in the dock. On the other hand, regarding this whole matter, Barmer District Collector Lokbandhu Yadav says that for the last several years, orders are issued to impose Section 144 on the occasion of religious festivals. In view of the same, this order has been issued. The District Collector has appealed to the residents of Barmer to celebrate the festival of Holi with great pomp in social harmony without any restrictions.

It is noteworthy that recently Banswara District Collector Prakashchand Sharma had also imposed Section 144 in the entire district from March 3 midnight to March 15. Banswara SP Abhijeet Singh said that 100 percent compliance will be done. Under Section 144, permission will have to be taken from the administration before taking out any kind of procession.

Donation will not be asked forcibly from anyone. If there is any kind of hue and cry while playing Holi, action will be taken. Prior to that, Jhunjhunu District Collector Laxman Singh Kudi had issued orders to impose section 144. Section 144 has been imposed in Jhunjhunu from March 1 to April 25.
