The fresh season will offer players a chance to represent and compete with stars from 16 of the nation’s most prestigious universities, both in men’s and women’s divisions.

Universities Featured in Season 5
Players can choose to represent a wide range of powerhouse programs, including UCLA, Duke, Arizona, Kansas, Texas, Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville, Purdue, Kentucky, Florida, UNC, Baylor, Houston, Ohio State, and Connecticut. The inclusion of these schools provides a diverse representation of college basketball’s competitive landscape. Content will be available for both the men’s and women’s divisions, expanding the scope of the collegiate experience within the game.
MyTeam and MyCareer Enhancements
The MyTeam mode will receive a significant boost with playable cards, court cards, and jersey cards featuring college stars, past and present. A “College Celebration Box” will allow players to add their favorite current college player to their lineup via a Free Agent Option Pack. Daily challenges will also be available, running from February 20th through March 30th, offering the chance to earn evolving player cards, starting at a 94 Diamond rating and potentially reaching 98 Galaxy Opal. Over 41 evolution cards will be available throughout Season 5, alongside graduate cards like a Diamond VJ Edgecombe (Baylor) at Level 1, Pink Diamond Marvin Bagley III (Duke) at Level 10, and Galaxy Opal Jason Williams (Florida) at Level 20. Further progression unlocks include a Dark Matter Larry Brown Coach Card (Kansas) at Level 28, a 100 overall Breanna Stewart (Connecticut) at Level 35, and a 100 overall Draymond Green at Level 40.
In MyCareer, players can showcase their collegiate pride within The City, with access to jerseys representing the 16 featured universities, along with wall art, team mascots, and customized gamer plates. Rewards throughout the progression system include Ohio State and Michigan Game Day Bundles (Levels 9 and 21 respectively), a Quadcopter (Level 18), and the UCLA mascot “Joe Bruin” alongside a Game Day Bundle at Level 37.
The W Online and Season Pass Perks
Even with the WNBA season currently in the offseason, The W Online competition is heating up in preparation for the next season. Weekly rewards will include items like Alyssa Thomas Nike V305 shoes and a WNBA Seattle Storm ball. Players can further enhance their experience with the Season 5 Pro Pass and Hall of Fame Pass, unlocking rewards such as the Duke University mascot Blue Devil, a City Guard Helmet, and a Dark Matter De’Aaron Fox (Kentucky) card. Higher tiers of the passes unlock even more premium rewards, including a 100 overall Draymond Green (Michigan State).

NBA 2K26 is scheduled for release on Thursday, March 19th, and will be compatible with PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the Nintendo Switch 2. The package version of the game will be priced at 4,730 yen (tax included) for PS5, 3,990 yen (tax included) for Nintendo Switch, and 4,360 yen (tax included) for Nintendo Switch 2, according to the official NBA 2K website.
