Austin, Texas – Scale Computing, a leading provider of edge computing and network solutions, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Adaptiv Networks, a cloud-native Software-Defined Wide-Area Network (SD-WAN) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) provider. The acquisition, announced February 19, 2026, aims to bolster Scale Computing’s SC//AcuVigil™ managed network solutions and expand its presence in the Canadian market, according to a company press release.
The move reflects a growing trend toward network convergence at the edge, where organizations are seeking reliable, secure connectivity to support distributed applications and remote workforces. Scale Computing CEO Bill Morrow emphasized the importance of this connectivity, stating, “Distributed organizations depend on applications being available everywhere work happens — and that requires reliable, secure connectivity and always-on visibility.” The integration of Adaptiv Networks’ technology is intended to provide partners and customers with more agile and secure network connections.
Adaptiv Networks specializes in simplifying WAN management and enhancing network performance, security, and reliability. Their cloud-native SD-WAN and SASE solutions cater to a wide range of organizations, from growing businesses with limited IT resources to large, distributed enterprises. The combined entity will serve over 9,000 customers across industries like quick-service restaurants, retail, and restaurants globally, as reported by PRNewswire.
Expanding SC//AcuVigil with SD-WAN and SASE
The acquisition will directly extend Scale Computing’s SC//AcuVigil™ managed network solutions with integrated SD-WAN connectivity, advanced network performance optimization, and centralized orchestration capabilities. Adaptiv Networks’ Connect and Elfiq family of SD-WAN solutions will be rebranded as SC//Connect™. This addition complements Scale Computing’s existing portfolio, which includes AcuVigil managed network solutions, Fleet Manager edge orchestration, Platform edge solutions, and Reliant Platform as a Service.
Bernard Breton, CEO of Adaptiv Networks, highlighted the synergy between the two companies, stating, “Both companies share a strong focus on building innovative technology that is efficient, and effective.” He added that combining Adaptiv’s SD-WAN and SASE capabilities with Scale Computing’s offerings will provide partners with a broader portfolio and businesses with more resilient and secure connectivity.
Scale Computing’s Growing Edge Computing Platform
Scale Computing positions itself as the “industry’s largest edge-first platform company,” focusing on providing infrastructure for distributed enterprises. The company offers a range of solutions, including edge computing, managed network security, and hyperconverged infrastructure, designed to scale from single locations to 50,000 sites. Scale Computing is backed by Oaktree Capital Management L.P., which has over $200 billion in assets under management, according to Third News.
Adaptiv Networks, described as a leading SD-WAN vendor, offers cloud-managed connectivity designed for simplicity, performance, and security. The company boasts the largest patent portfolio in the SD-WAN industry, as stated on their website. Their solutions aim to help businesses regain control of their networks by improving reliability, quality, manageability, and security.
