February is shaping up to be a vibrant month for music lovers in Mar del Plata, with the Parque de Mogotes hosting a diverse lineup of artists throughout the month. Following successful performances by The la Planta and Los Totora during the Carnival long weekend, the park continues to solidify its position as a key musical hub for the season, offering a blend of cumbia, rock, and popular music in an open-air setting.
The Parque de Mogotes is offering a packed schedule of events for the remainder of February and into March, catering to a wide range of musical tastes. From established artists to emerging talents, the park promises a lively atmosphere for families and music enthusiasts alike. The events build on the park’s ninth season of providing accessible musical experiences.
This Wednesday, February 18th, Onda Sabanera, known for their romantic tropical style, will take the stage. On Friday, February 20th, Attitude, a tribute band widely regarded as one of the best Guns N’ Roses cover acts, will perform a free show. The park will then host the return of Call Of Freestyle on Saturday, February 21st, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, featuring freestyle rap battles, breakdancing, beatboxing, and skateboarding competitions. Concluding the evening will be G Sony, a recognized singer, rapper, and freestyle champion.
Saturday’s programming continues with a performance by Rocío Quiroz, a popular figure in the cumbia scene. Attendees of the Call Of Freestyle event will have free access to Quiroz’s show, while those arriving after 6:00 PM will be subject to a minimum consumption fee. On Sunday, February 22nd, El Mono de Kapanga will perform with his latest project, “Dúo Pardepe,” a musical collaboration with his son.
The musical calendar extends into March with Chili Fernández, a prominent figure in the tropical music scene, scheduled to perform on Wednesday, February 25th. Closing out the series on Sunday, March 1st, will be La Mississippi alongside Mala Sangre, a highly popular tribute band to Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, promising a special night for fans of Argentine rock.
For the shows featuring Rocío Quiroz (Saturday, February 21st), as well as the performances on February 22nd, 25th, and March 1st, entry requires a minimum consumption of 7000 pesos for those over 12 years of age, redeemable for a beverage upon entry. Events designated as free remain accessible without charge.
