Bernhard Günter, the director of the Wien Modern festival, enthuses regarding the composer Arnold Schönberg that he “set modernity in motion.” This is also why it is important to remember his 150th birthday in 2024 (September 13th); a project in which many of the city’s institutions will take part. The central contact point is of course the Schönberg Center, which coordinates the activities with Wien Modern and will organize two exhibitions.
