Riyadh: Capt. Hanadi Zakaria Alhind, a Saudi woman who holds a license to fly a plane at a time when women are not allowed on the road in Saudi Arabia, is celebrating World Women’s Day. The Women’s Day celebration was held at the Safa Makkah Polyclinic in Riyadh.

Hanadi, who trained in Saudi Arabia to issue driving licenses to women and was trained to fly a decade and a half ago, later obtained a pilot’s license to fly within Saudi Arabia. Organizers said the event was organized in the belief that it was a creative celebration of Women’s Day, telling the story of the hard work of people like Hanadi, who made it possible for public opinion to be labeled impossible.
