Central – The first case of cholera in Lebanon… and details of the patient’s condition

The Ministry of Public Health announced the registration of the first case of cholera in Lebanon.

According to Al-Akhbar newspaper, the injured is a Syrian displaced person in his sixties, residing in the Benin camp for the displaced Syrians in the Akkar Plain. A few days ago, he was transferred to Halba Governmental Hospital following symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting and fatigue appeared on him. An official source in the hospital said that the curators took a sample from the patient and sent it to the ministry’s laboratories in Beirut to confirm their suspicions that he may have cholera. The result of the sample was released yesterday to confirm the suspicions.
