Ahead of Galaxy Unpacked during which the presentation of the Galaxy S24 will take place, Samsung lifted the veil on a myriad of new products and technologies at CES 2024. The South Korean firm particularly caused a sensation with its new range of The Premiere ultra-short throw video projectors, between wireless, gaming and touchscreen.

Samsung innovates with its new The Premiere video projectors

In total, four models have been announced: the Premiere 5, Premiere 7, Premiere 9 and Premiere 8K. For this new generation, Samsung first offers Lightwarp, a mapping projection technology that “transforms any object in the room into an interactive display surface”.

Running under TizenOS, the entire range is logically entitled to the Samsung Gaming Hub, to play without a console thanks to support for different cloud gaming services.

These new ultra-short throw video projectors also have the advantage of being able to transform into a connected speaker, allowing you to listen to music, a podcast or even the radio without having to project the screen.

The Premiere 8K, the top ultra-short throw video projector from Samsung

With the Premiere 8K, Samsung offers the cream of the crop by offering a model that projects a gigantic 150-inch 8K screen on a wall at a distance of 30 cm.

Small feature compared to the 2023 version, this new model will receive wireless video and audio streams. For this, Samsung has opted for a remote box, the Wireless One Connect Box, capable of sending the content of the devices to which it is connected (consoles, TV box, Blu-ray player, etc.) up to 10 meters away from the video projector .

Since 8K content is still few and far between, Samsung explains that it uses upscaling technology boosted by artificial intelligence to transform 4K videos into 8K.

Finally, the Premiere 8K benefits from a brightness of 4000 lumens and integrated 100 W speakers with Dolby Atmos 8.2.2.

The Premiere 5, the newest addition

With The Premiere 5, Samsung announces the ultra-short throw triple laser video projector “the most compact in the world”. Its size: 20.3 cm high by 12.6 cm wide and deep.

Placed 43 cm from the wall, this new model offers a 100-inch image. In terms of intelligent features, the South Korean firm mentions in particular the automatic adjustment of color balance, focus and trapezoidal distortion.

Improved versions of Premiere 7 and Premiere 9

For the Premiere 7 and Premiere 9, Samsung improves its copy by offering better brightness, a more powerful processor (Quantum 4K) and Dolby Atmos audio technology.

The price and availability of the new The Premiere ultra-short throw video projectors have not yet been communicated by Samsung.
