CFCF Announces New Album ‘L.U.V.’ & Tour Dates | Pitchfork

Montreal-based producer CFCF is set to release his fresh album, L.U.V., on June 12 via BGM Solutions. This marks his first full-length project under the moniker since 2021’s Memoryland and signals a continuation of his exploration into electronic soundscapes. The announcement comes alongside the release of the lead single, “Let’s Kill Ourselves,” a collaboration featuring artists Touching Ice, and TECHG1RLS.

The forthcoming album represents a deliberate evolution for the artist, whose real name is Mike Silver. He described L.U.V. as an “organic successor” to Memoryland, while intentionally steering clear of simply recreating its predecessor. According to Silver, the new record aims for a “Eurodance with a sophisticated edge,” crafting music designed for a more mature audience and lifestyle. This new direction in CFCF’s discography promises a refined and polished sound, building upon the foundations laid in previous function.

Exploring the Sound of ‘L.U.V.’

While a complete tracklist for L.U.V. remains unconfirmed, the release of “Let’s Kill Ourselves” offers a compelling glimpse into the album’s sonic landscape. The single showcases a blend of electronic textures and vocal contributions from Touching Ice and TECHG1RLS, hinting at the collaborative spirit woven throughout the project. Listeners can experience the track now on various streaming platforms.

CFCF’s music has consistently garnered attention for its atmospheric qualities and intricate production. His previous work, including Memoryland, has been praised for its ability to evoke a sense of nostalgia and introspection. The shift towards a more “sophisticated” Eurodance sound with L.U.V. suggests a willingness to experiment and push creative boundaries, while still maintaining the core elements that define his artistic identity.
