CFF: Disappearance of ticket offices in several French-speaking stations

SBB has decided to transform several small Passenger Centers into self-service stations.

The demand for personalized advice continues to increase in medium and large travel centres, while it decreases in small sites. Faced with this reality, the CFF have decided to act in French-speaking Switzerland.

The stations of Gland (VD), Avenches (VD) and Tavannes (BE) will be transformed into stations with self-service, from 1 January 2023. In Valais, at the same time, it is the station of Loèche which will undergo a such adjustment. As for the Monthey Travel Center, it will be transferred to RegionAlps, from January 27, 2023.

At present, around 95% of ticket sales are already made throughout Switzerland via self-service sales channels.
