Breaking: La Comète’s 2025-2026 Season Blends Theater, Dance, and Cinema

Châlons-en-Champagne, France – The 2025-2026 season of La Comète, the National Scene of Châlons, promises to be a thrilling blend of theater, dance, music, and cinema. Scheduled for September, the season’s presentation took place on June 13, with tickets already selling fast. This season marks the first entirely designed by Édouard Chapot, who took over the structure in December.

Innovative Programming and Collaborative Disciplines

Chapot’s vision focuses on integrating live performances and cinema, creating a unique and immersive experience. The “Ciné-Opéra” concept will showcase opera performances filmed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, while selected films will bridge the gap between shows. Highlights include the Night of Horror and the International War On Screen festival.

Hybrid Approaches and Animal Performances

The season will feature hybrid artistic genres, combining theater, dance, circus, and music. Notable performances include “On purge bébé,” a Feydeau classic revisited by Karelle Prugnaud, and the Jouis-à-Tout Nikolaus director. Animal performances will also be a part of the season, with Alex Lutz’s “Sex, Grog and Rocking Chair” featuring his horses, and Equinote’s “Zusammen,” a theater and equestrian circus creation.

Celebrating 30 Years with Special Offers

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of obtaining the “National Scene” label, La Comète is offering free shows to those turning 30 during the season. This initiative aims to attract a younger audience to the venue.

Itinerant Performances and Theater Workshops

The new season will also feature itinerant performances, such as “Life in Real Life with Anne Sylvestre,” a musical and theatrical duo by Marie Fortuit. Additionally, La Comète will offer weekly theater lessons with the company Marnaise Le Diable sur 4 jambes and actress Charline Voine, starting in January.
