The Greek club of Panathinaikos eliminated the Ukrainians of Dnipro (2-2 in the return, 3-1 in the first leg) to join Olympique de Marseille in the third qualifying round for the Champions League. The European body might defend its decision because of the supposed close proximity between certain Marseille ultras of the CU84 group and those of AEK Athens, sworn enemy of Panathinaikos.
