CHARLOTTE, N.C. — City investigators say a 22-year-old man, Aristides Eli Orellana-Ramirez, is the identified suspect in the murder of a 16-year-old boy and is connected to a string of shootings that occurred in the weeks before Christmas. Arrest warrants were issued, and Ramirez was located and taken into custody on January 8.After a homicide interview, he was transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

Detectives later confirmed that two victims were shot at the same location during the same incident and that the suspect left the scene to seek help.
On December 21, investigators responded to a nearby Farmhurst Drive apartment after a report of shots fired.A mother told police bullets had entered her son’s room, and investigators beleive this shooting is linked to the December 20 double homicide.
