Charlotte FC defeated New York Red Bulls with goals in the complement of both halves

Charlotte FC defeated New York Red Bulls 2-0 at home and added a new victory that allows them to continue in Playoff positions.

Ben Bender scored the first goal in the second half, while Derrick Jones did the same in the substitution of the second.

This was Bender’s third goal so far in the tournament, following he came into the squad with the first pick in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft.

Today’s goal was made following a pass from the Argentine Christian Ortiz, the other two had been penalties.

Jones’ goal that sealed the local victory was scored in the first minute of the second half complement.

After Charlotte beat New York, the Red Bulls dropped 23 points to fourth in the conference behind Montreal, which has the same points but better goal difference.
