Checkout Scam at Cora de Rocourt: Mother and Daughter Caught Red-Handed

2023-12-02 06:26:00

Friday followingnoon, at Cora de Rocourt, a mother and her 19-year-old daughter went to the checkout with two shopping carts filled to the brim with products. Please note that when shopping carts are very full, a scan is carried out remotely in order to assess the approximate price.

The two women were repeatedly asked to go to the checkout but they seemed to want to go to a very specific checkout, run by an 18-year-old student. The latter then scanned the products from the first shopping cart, estimated at a value of 1,500 euros, but the final receipt indicated 300 euros.

The management therefore came to check the contents of the shopping cart and questioned the young man regarding this reduction of 1,200 euros. The young man claimed to have been distracted. However, in the previous 10 shopping carts, the suspect had not made any mistakes. By analyzing the video surveillance images, staff found that the two young people were talking to each other and were therefore in cahoots.

The student was fired immediately.
