Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Chelsea are close to acquiring the services of Brazilian Rafinia Diaz, the Leeds United player, in the current summer transfer market.
Media reports indicated that Chelsea are waiting for Rafinha’s answer, following his current club, Leeds United, agreed to the 60 million pound ($72 million) offer.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said, via his Twitter account: “Chelsea is waiting for Rafinha’s answer. Agent Deco has been told that he will hold talks with Chelsea tomorrow. Talks are still ongoing, following agreeing on a deal worth 60 million pounds.” Fabrizio added. Barcelona and Arsenal will try until the end.
Barcelona and Arsenal were competing to bring in Rafinha, before Chelsea turned the scales by entering into the deal.
Rafinha’s contract, 25, with Leeds United expires in the summer of 2024, and he played 65 matches with the team in various competitions, during which he scored 17 goals and assisted 11 others.
In a related context, Tottenham are negotiating with Everton to give up Brazilian striker Richarlison, to support the team’s attack at the request of coach Antonio Conte.
Reports have revealed that Tottenham may offer midfielder Harry Winks, in addition to a financial sum, to secure the signing with Richarlison.
“Tottenham has already set a new round of talks for Richarlison, work is underway with Everton, but the structure of the deal must be discussed once more, there are no problems on a personal level,” said Fabrizio Romano.
Richarlison, 25, played 33 games with Everton in various competitions last season, during which he scored 11 goals and assisted 5 others.
