China Protests President Biden’s Description of President Xi Jinping as a ‘Dictator’: Latest Updates

China made an official protest to the United States over President Joe Biden’s remarks that described President Xi Jinping as a “dictator.”

The Chinese embassy in Washington said on the 22nd that Chinese Ambassador Xie Feng had raised negotiations with senior White House and State Department officials.

Ambassador Xie told US officials that the US must take serious action to undo the negative impact of President Biden’s remarks or risk any consequences.

The Chinese embassy also said that “recent irresponsible remarks regarding China’s political system and its supreme leader” forced it to call into question the sincerity of the stability the US is seeking.

He added that the Chinese government and people will not tolerate any political provocations once morest China’s supreme leader and will respond sternly.

Previously, President Biden explained China’s reconnaissance balloon incident at a fundraising event held in California on the 20th, and referred to President Xi as a ‘dictator’.

Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on the 22nd that it is important for the US and China to maintain their relationship and work together on international challenges.
