With his flying hair and his mischievous smile, Meng Jinghui impresses as a cheerful festival director. “Feel good,” he happily toasts his audience at the reception from the opposite bank of one of Wuzhen’s water canals. He then blends into the crowd and is accessible to everyone. He has two premieres to tackle these days. Wuzhen is one of China’s most prestigious theater festivals and one of the largest audience festivals. Tickets are not that easy to get.
