As competitors like Volkswagen and Toyota left the Russian market in the wake of the war in Ukraine, the Chinese were able to expand their market share there. Exports of cars equipped with motorization “new energy“, including electric vehicles, increased by 90% from China. The biggest exporters are BYD and SAIC, among others, but Tesla vehicles assembled in the Shanghai factory are also sent to Japan, Europe and soon Canada.
