Since March, this imposing building, owned by the Chinese embassy, has been illegally occupied by several dozen people. Too much noise at all hours of the day and night, waste accumulating, local residents denounce the nuisance caused by this occupation: this is the case of Vincent Meirlaen who lives right next to the old consulate: “We are disturbed until two, three or even four in the morning. I have already asked them to clean the surroundings, without success! I don’t feel at home anymore! “. The building was recently declared dangerous and unsanitary. Last week, the firefighters were also called to a fire inside the former consulate. But this resident also denounces what he considers to be “the passivity of the municipal authorities”. Auderghem would hide, according to him, behind the lack of reaction from the Chinese embassy, to do nothing.
