Chinese Entity Acquires Giant Tanker: Euronav Shareholders’ Meeting and Legal Obstacles

According to TradeWinds, which relies on American and Greek brokers, Chinese entities are the new owners of the giant tanker which can be used as a storage vessel. The CEO of Euronav, Alexander Saverys, has reportedly agreed to the sale.

Euronav is holding a special shareholders’ meeting this Friday, notably devoted to certain legal obstacles regarding the recent merger with CMB.TECH. “The company and CMB expect to complete the transaction in February 2024,” it said in a statement.
