Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi held a launch ceremony for its latest 13T smartphone model in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Sunday, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The 13T series, officially on sale in Egypt starting this Monday, is equipped with a 50-megapixel camera and an updated imaging algorithm, allowing it to capture everyday moments as well as shots of busy streets, according to Xiaomi.

During the ceremony held at the Grand Egyptian Museum, photos and videos of Egyptian cultural items taken with the new model were exhibited to show Xiaomi’s imaging capability.

Xiaomi has already built a factory in Egypt that can manufacture phones and other smart devices, which has created jobs and brought economic benefits to residents, according to the statement.

The Chinese manufacturer will continue to deepen its cooperation with Egypt and provide more quality products and services to Egyptian consumers, the statement added.
