Muscat: Civil Defense reported that 42 people were injured in a chlorine gas leak in Oman. Chlorine gas stored in a cylinder leaked in a company in Muwailih industrial area of ​​North Bathina. 42 people were shifted to the hospital due to respiratory problems.

Some of those undergoing treatment are in critical condition. The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority has also informed that the gas leak has been controlled. The Oman Environment Authority also said that the situation is under control. The leaking cylinder was moved to a safe location. Civil Defense said that such incidents indicate the need to strictly follow safety procedures to avoid accidents.

The hazardous materials accident handling team in the governorate responded to a report of a chlorine gas leak from a cylinder in the industrial area, where the team was able to contain the leaked gas. As a result of the accident, 42 people were injured as a result of gas inhalation. They were treated to the hospital with health conditions that ranged from moderate to critical.
