Chris Hahne was a tour bus driver for Rio Reiser and many others. He later founded a company with partners on whose buses all sorts of stars, from Janet Jackson to the Rolling Stones, ride – if desired with a moving bathroom.
The plan was actually clear: “When Lina becomes a mother, I should come back and support her for a year,” says Chris Hahne. “Now she has two children and I can’t get out of here anymore,” says the founder of the tour bus rental company Berlin Rock Coaches with a laugh. His daughter Lina manages the operative business. And even if the deal didn’t go quite as well as originally planned, it’s already calming down.
“It’s a 24/7 job – during the day you’re in the office, at night the buses break down and you always have to find a solution to every problem,” he says, describing his work. “There is now a permanent emergency service for the buses, but for 20 years I had the phone lying next to me, and it rang every other night – at some point you just don’t want that anymore.”
