COFAG – SPÖ-Krainer demands full clarification of the funding of the Nehammer agency

Vienna (OTS/SK) – SPÖ finance spokesman and faction leader in the COFAG investigative committee Jan Krainer calls for full and immediate clarification regarding the report recently published by “ZackZack” on COFAG funding from the “Back-Bone” agency. The father and brother of ÖVP Chancellor Nehammer each hold 25 percent shares in the GmbH. “Although the Nehammer family business ‘Back-Bone’ made profits between 2020 and 2022, the agency was funded with around 164,000 euros,” Krainer told the SPÖ press service on Saturday. According to ZackZack, the COFAG funding brought the agency a 55 percent increase in its annual profit in 2021 alone. The SPÖ MP sees “a massive overtaxing of the Nehammer operation” and calls for “full and immediate clarification”. “The fact that profits are supported with tax money instead of losses is intolerable and irresponsible. During the Corona pandemic, companies should be supported in order to save jobs, but not in order to finance profits at the expense of taxpayers!” says Krainer, who wants to shed light on the “black box COFAG” in the COFAG investigative committee . Until a corresponding decision was made by the Constitutional Court, COFAG was able to act without parliamentary control. “We will investigate the allegations of structural over-promotion,” said Krainer. **** (end) bj
