On the sidelines of the 78th ordinary session of the United Nations General Assembly, the head of the junta met the Guinean diaspora in the USA. Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya invited his compatriots to become more involved in the development of their country.

“It is with great pleasure that I meet you today. As I have always said, the diaspora is an integral and respectable part of the Guinean nation. As such, I instruct the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide each of you with all the protection and assistance of the Guinean government if necessary,” declared the President of the Guinean transition in substance.

For President Doumbouya, one Guinean outside is equivalent to the whole country. This is why he invites the diaspora to take part “actively” in the social, economic and political refoundation initiated by the CNRD.

Furthermore, Mamadi Doumbouya indicated that through the establishment of the High Council of Guineans established abroad, the Guinean diaspora demonstrated “following 11 years of unsuccessful attempts that if the government is just and equitable, nothing can prevent Guineans from living together and coping with the development of our country.”
