As part of the activities of the 15th session of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, the “Comics Corner” presents a rich program that includes more than 132 activities aimed at developing the creative talents of children and adolescents, sharpening their skills and to develop their talents and abilities in this art. The workshops and discussion sessions welcome a group of animation and comics industry leaders from around the world.
This is part of a busy program as children and young people prepare to embark on an exciting journey into the world of creativity, imagination and discovery at the Children’s Reading Festival of Sharjah, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority from May 1 to 12 at the Expo Center, under the slogan “Be the hero of your story”.
The “Comics Corner” hosts a range of interactive workshops, including the “3D Animation” workshop, which embarks on a journey of digital creativity with the “Maya and Blinder” program to teach participants how to design and animate 3D models and to enrich their creativity. imaginations with unlimited possibilities and possibilities.
The “Design Your Heroes” workshop is for promising emerging storytellers who are creating superheroes, each with a unique strength, personality and visual identity, from first draft to storyboard. The “Art of Comics” workshop offers participants the opportunity to explore the intersection of “Pop Art” and comics, in addition to delving into its history and learning techniques for integrating its elements into the comic book content creation. The workshop’s activities are a tribute to the pioneers of this artistic movement, such as artist Roy Fox Lichtenstein, and to the contemporary visions of other artists.
The “Aesthetics of Pages” workshop explores how literature merges with visual aesthetics through book page frames, where pages from old books are selected to prepare the frames, and the pieces are assembled to create works of art. visually stunning art.
The “Lantern Making” workshop delves into construction techniques, designs “comic book” inspired models, and makes artwork, giving participants the opportunity to master lantern design and making in this creative activity distinguished.
