2024-03-09 07:01:03

The action takes place at Trinity Colleague at the University of Cambridge: a young woman, a pro-Palestinian activist, approaches a work of art and vandalizes it with spray paint and cutter blows.

This work was not chosen at random by the activist: it represents the portrait of Lord Arthur James, former British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. In 1917, he signed a declaration in favor of a “national home for the Jewish people”.

On The activist therefore sprayed the work with a can of red paint, “symbolizing the bloodshed of the Palestinian people since the publication of the Balfour Declaration in 1917”.
