Coquimbo region maintains 55 active cases: seven infected are reported

In a new health report with the local situation of the Coronavirus, the Health authorities highlighted the low number of active infections that the Coquimbo Region maintains

“In today’s health report we must report 7 new cases of Coronavirus, 2 corresponding to the commune of La Serena, 1 to Coquimbo, 1 to Vicuña, 2 to Ovalle and 1 to Combarbalá”, detailed the seremi (S) of Health, Roberto Villalobos ..

With this, Coquimbo reaches a total of 12,853 accumulated cases, of which 55 remain with active contagion.

The health authority also took the opportunity to reiterate the call to enjoy this afternoon’s match of the Chilean team in Covid Mode for a new date of the World Cup Qualifiers.

Network status

Alejandra Álvarez, Assistant Director of Assistance Management of the Coquimbo Health Service, delivered the balance of the network, informing that the occupation of beds reaches 79%.

“Today our Assistance Network has a staff of 1,169, of which 223 are available. And in relation to the beds in the Critical Patient Units, we have 3 in the ICU, which are those that have mechanical ventilators, and 10 ICUs ”, he pointed out.

In addition, the authority delivered the report of patients hospitalized for Covid-19 in the region. “Today we report that 13 people remain hospitalized as a result of the virus, of which 4 are serious and connected to mechanical ventilation,” he explained.

Regarding the affected health personnel, the Assistant Director of Care Management reported that 9 officials from the Health Service and hospitals have tested positive for the virus, and 37 are in preventive quarantine. While in Primary Health Care (PHC), again no officials are reported who have tested positive for the virus, and 9 are kept in quarantine.
