Corona: Vienna relaxes kindergarten rules for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered

Vienna kindergarten children who have been vaccinated or have recovered no longer have to stay at home from Monday if their group is closed due to a corona infection.

Previously, vaccinated and recovered children had to stay at home if two other children or a teacher in their group tested positive. From Monday they will continue to be cared for in the kindergarten. This was announced by City Councilor Christoph Wiederkehr (NEOS) on Thursday via Twitter.

This is recommended by experts and can be justified in the current phase of the pandemic, said Wiederkehr on Thursday in the ORF program “Vienna Today”. In Vienna, children under the age of five are also vaccinated off-label.
