Coronavirus in Mexico: cases continue to increase

This Saturday the Health authorities in Mexico reported that there are already 847,108 people infected by the coronavirus and the deaths have reached the 86,059 after registering 5,447 infections and 355 deaths during the last 24 hours, increasing compared to Friday.

However, the authorities themselves have indicated that the number could be much higher and they estimate that there would be 97,793 deaths and 983,791 cases, of which 4% (45,199) would be active cases.

In total there have been 2,176,522 tests, of which 97% underwent a laboratory study, and 38.9% tested positive throughout this pandemic that began in late February.

Of this amount, 615,680 have been recovered satisfactorily; although 10,957 people remain hospitalized and 2,617 of them in beds equipped with ventilators to receive respiratory aid.

It should be noted that the state of Chihuahua it has the highest occupancy rate with 59% of overall beds. Likewise, the Mexico City, Nuevo León, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Coahuila and the State of Mexico they concentrate around 52% of the active cases in the country.

Precisely in the Mexican capital there has been an increase in cases and hospitalizations during the last week, which is why the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, indicated that the CDMX would continue at an orange traffic light without opening more activities.
