Côte d’Ivoire: LTE Group Distributes Rice & Farming Equipment for Ramadan & Lent

Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire – Lamine Traoré Entreprise (LTE) Groupe, an Ivorian company specializing in hydraulics, energy, and agriculture, distributed 50 tonnes of rice and agricultural equipment valued at 70 million CFA francs to communities across Côte d’Ivoire, according to a statement released by the Agence Ivoirienne de Presse (AIP) on Saturday.

The distribution, timed to coincide with the period of fasting observed by both Christian and Muslim communities, formed part of a solidarity campaign led by Dr. Lamine Traoré, the President-Director General of LTE Groupe. The campaign involved visits to multiple regions throughout the country to provide food and economic support to local populations.

A key event of the initiative took place on March 6, 2026, in Kplessou, a village in the Toumodi department, where a joint breaking of the speedy ceremony was held at the Islamic center of the MIFACOCI (Mouvement Islamique des Convertis pour la Fraternité et l’Amour de Côte d’Ivoire) NGO. The event brought together members of the Christian and Muslim communities.

Dr. Traoré emphasized the campaign’s goal of strengthening social cohesion and peaceful coexistence within Côte d’Ivoire. “We are gathered for this first edition of the collective breaking of the fast to contribute to the education of youth and the consolidation of peace. This ceremony is a way to strengthen the bonds between communities,” he stated during the event.

Local religious leaders welcomed the initiative. El Hadj Ibrahim Konan, the spiritual guide of MIFACOCI and head of the Islamic center in Kplessou, highlighted the importance of fostering communion between different groups. “We wanted to fraternize with our Baoulé relatives as well as with youth organizations in order to get to know each other better. Islam is a religion of generosity, and we must live in peace with our Christian brothers,” he said.

More than 3,000 bags of rice were distributed throughout the country, including in Abidjan, Agboville, Tiassalé, Morondo, Koubly, Bondoukou, Yocoboué, Lozoua, Tabou, Yamoussoukro, Bouaké, Gagnoa, and Toumodi, as well as in 25 villages within the Toumodi department.

In Yocoboué, in the Lôh-Djiboua region, LTE Groupe likewise provided modern agricultural equipment to local associations and cooperatives. The equipment included mini-tractors, grinders, hullers, and seeders, intended to support the empowerment of young people and women.

Dr. Traoré explained that these actions align with the company’s social mission. “LTE Groupe is a company with a social character. Our concept of credit sales over 24 months already allows many people to acquire our equipment. It therefore seems natural to us to also support populations in need,” he said.

LTE Groupe operates in multiple sectors, including energy through the sale of generators, hydraulics with the implementation of drilling projects, and agriculture through the distribution of agricultural equipment, according to information on the company’s website, lte.ci.
