Who should receive money from unauthorized donations to parties? The Austrian Court of Auditors (RH) addresses this question to citizens. In 2023, 15,343.22 euros were forwarded to the RH by the parties, which were declared as inadmissible party donations. These now need to be distributed. In an initiative by February 5th, the RH is now asking for suggestions as to which violence and victim protection organizations should benefit from this. Submissions can be made by email at buerger [email protected], or by direct message on the channels Instagram or Facebook as well as by post (Dampfschiffstraße 2, 1030 Vienna; password: citizen participation). According to the party law, inadmissible party donations must be forwarded to the RH. The President of the Court of Auditors must then designate institutions that fulfill “charitable and scientific purposes”.
