In Ernakulam, prominent people lost in the race for CPI state council. Former district secretary P. Raju, AN Sugathan, MT Nixon and CT Sanjith lost. Chatannoor MLA GS Jayalal was removed from the state council. Jayalal, who was fired earlier in the co-operative hospital controversy, was not reinstated.
ES Bjimole was removed from the State Council. Idukki leaders including former district secretary KK Sivaraman opposed but to no avail. Bigimol is not in CPI party Congress delegate list either. Ismail’s supporters had to face defeat in Ernakulam too.
