Cracking Down on Illegal Recruitment: Bahrain’s Labor Market Regulatory Authority Takes Action Against 16 Firms

Bahrain’s Labor Market Regulatory Authority has announced that it has taken action once morest 16 firms that illegally recruited workers.

The legal action is once morest the establishments which were providing domestic workers on fixed hours without the approval of the authority. LMRA in collaboration with Nationality, Passport and Residents Affairs conducted an inspection in the Capital Governorate and discovered recruitment agencies that violated the law.

Ahmad Ibrahim Al Junaid, the authority’s spokesperson, said that action will be taken once morest all violations of the law that harm the labor market. There are special teams trained to investigate and detect violations of the law.

In the last inspection, 33 people, including domestic workers, were arrested for violating the law. Some of them came as domestic workers and later left. He added that action will be taken once morest the establishments which employed such people on hourly basis.
