The US is taking advantage of the cracks in the Israeli war cabinet. Top representatives made it clear to the ex-army chief in Washington the urgency for a ceasefire and the protection of civilians.

Benjamin Netanyahu did not at all agree with the Washington trip of Benny Gantz, his colleague and competitor in the war cabinet, who ranks far ahead of him in polls. The former army chief and defense minister should not receive special treatment from Israel’s embassy in the US capital, according to the Israeli prime minister’s message to his diplomats.
