The situation in Crete and especially in Ierapetra is dramatic, with rooftops and gardens filled with dead pigeons, without anyone knowing whether this is due to a lack of water or poisoned food.
However, according to ekriti.gr, the residents are mobilizing and putting basins of water on their roofs, in case the birds have escaped from the lack of water and the summer heat in southern Crete.
