Amadou Damaro Camara benefited from provisional release this Monday, October 9, 2023. But the special prosecutor’s office has not said its last word. He might file an appeal in the coming hours and undermine the decision of judge Francis Kova Zoumanigui.
Asked whether the special prosecutor’s office intends to appeal today’s decision, substitute Lazare Mamady Bauret, contacted by telephone by our editorial staff, confided that the prosecutor’s office is considering what action to take in the next 24 hours.
The public prosecutor opposed, during the debates, the release of the defendant, Amadou Damaro Camara. From now on, his fate is in the hands of the special prosecution led by Aly Touré.
It should be remembered, however, that the co-defendants of Amadou Damaro Camara, Michel Kamano, Zeinabou Camara known as Zée Pharell and the Taiwanese national, Jun Sen Cheng, appear free before the Crief trial chamber. All three (3) had also benefited from authorizations to leave the national territory during this trial.
