Hyderabad: Eight people, including a woman, died in a stampede during the road show of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N. Chandrababu Naidu in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. Many people were injured. It is reported that all the eight people died following falling into the drain during the rush.

The rush started when Naidu’s motorcade was passing through the area on Wednesday evening. The injured were admitted to the hospital. Following the incident, Naidu canceled the road show and announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased. He asked the party workers to ensure better medical care for the injured.
