Dávila is the most recent arrested as a result of the investigation by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) into a drug trafficking network. Last year, Oscar Rojas, a former Bolivian police officer, was arrested in Colombia, and Jorge Roca Suárez, alias “Thatch Roof,” in Peru, who has already served a 27-year sentence in a United States prison for the same crime.
