The couple promoted their upcoming commercial for the world’s most-viewed sporting event. This is a hilarious sequence that parodies a cult scene from the Netflix docuseries 2023, Beckham. In this documentary, David Beckham repeatedly criticized his wife who described his upbringing as being “more middle class” by asking him to “be honest”. Finally, following a specific question from her husband, the ex-Spice Girl admitted that her father drove her to school in a Rolls-Royce in the 80s.
This moment made the Web laugh and Victoria Beckham knew how to take advantage of it. She had taken out a t-shirt with the fateful phrase “My dad had a Rolls Royce”.
In the teaser of the ad, posted online by Victoria Beckham on her Instagram account, the wink is supported! We see a parody of the iconic extract: Victoria Beckham – wearing the famous t-shirt emblazoned with the phrase “My father had a Rolls” – says to the camera: “David and I are going to do a little commercial”. But, immediately, David sticks his head through a doorway and tells his wife to be “honest.” “Okay, it’s huge publicity,” she admits.
After a few exchanges, the couple, apparently in complete confusion, ended up agreeing to appear in a “Hockey Bowl” commercial with “Jessica Aniston”.
Victoria Beckham’s text t-shirt, featuring the now cult phrase, has been available for sale on her website since November. “I can’t fight this anymore. Yes, my father drove me to school in a Rolls-Royce,” the fashion designer joked in a TikTok video promoting the t-shirt, at 130 euros, that we are snapping up.
